SEBUYAU: In the spirit of Ramadan, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) continues its commitment to community welfare by organizing the PETRONAS First Iftar Ceremony at Masjid Al-Muflihin, Sebuyau. This event, held under the “PETRONAS Driving the Life of Hari Raya Aidilfitri” program on Saturday, aimed to support the local community and bring joy to those in need.
The event was officiated by Sarawak Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications and Sebuyau State Assemblyman (ADUN), Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, who expressed his gratitude for PETRONAS’ efforts in assisting underprivileged groups.

Food Aid for 250 Families
As part of the initiative, PETRONAS distributed food baskets to 250 needy recipients in Sebuyau. This effort is intended to ease their burden and assist them in their preparations for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The food aid distribution reflects PETRONAS’ ongoing commitment to community welfare and social responsibility.

PETRONAS’ Commitment to Social Welfare
During his speech, Dato Sri Julaihi highlighted PETRONAS Foundation’s various social impact programs aimed at improving the lives of Sarawakians. One of the key initiatives mentioned was the “Back to School Program,” which has provided school supplies to more than 700 students across Sarawak, ensuring they have the necessary resources for their education.
Additionally, the Flood Disaster Assistance Program was launched to aid flood victims in Sarawak, demonstrating PETRONAS’ dedication to safeguarding the well-being of affected communities. Dato Sri Julaihi emphasized the importance of such initiatives and urged more organizations to take similar actions in assisting those in need.
Distinguished Guests in Attendance
The event saw the presence of several prominent figures, including PETRONAS Group Senior General Manager of Stakeholder Relations, Strategic Relations and Communications, Khairuddin M. Jaafar, PETRONAS Sarawak General Manager, Norazibah Md Rabu, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Sarawak Ministry of Utilities and Telecommunications, Syed Mohd Fauzi Shahab. Other notable attendees included the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Sarawak Director, Adiman Ajem, and Sebuyau District Officer, Ayuradiman Bujang.
