KUCHING, Jan 9 — Several areas in Kuching and Samarahan will face water supply disruptions due to essential repair work on a 600mm main pipe leak along Jalan Canna. The disruptions are expected to begin tomorrow, Jan 10, at 9pm and last until 5am on Saturday, Jan 11.
The Kuching Water Board (KWB) announced that affected areas include major roads and residential zones such as Jalan Canna, Jalan Keranji, Jalan Bayor Bukit, Jalan Urat Mata, Jalan Wan Alwi, Jalan Song, Jalan Muara Tabuan, Jalan Setia Raja, Jalan Kedandi, Jalan Stutong Jaya, and Jalan Usahajaya. Additional areas impacted include Tabuan Tranquility, The Northbank, Stutong Indah, Emart Tabuan Jaya, Premier Food Republic, TT3 Food Court, Tabuan Jaya Police Complex, Tabuan Jaya Customs, Stutong Market, and Stutong Commercial Centre.
Several residential areas, including Tabuan Desa, Tabuan Dusun, Tabuan Laru, Taman Rimba, Taman Rimba Samajaya, Taman Riveria, Taman Tiya Vista, La Promenade, and Binyuk Lot, will also experience disruptions. Residents in these areas can expect low water pressure, potential water outages, and the possibility of dirty water during the repair period.
KWB has advised residents to store sufficient water for their needs during the disruption and recovery period. As a precaution, the water board will deploy water tankers to affected areas. However, residents are urged to plan ahead for the inconvenience.
