KUCHING, 22 March 2025 (Saturday) – YB Dato’ Ir Lo Khere Chiang, Assemblyman for N13 Batu Kitang, together with Mr Albert Lee and Team YB Lo, visited Nurul Jamiq Mosque, Kampung Batu Kitang for a meaningful evening of iftar (breaking of fast) with the local community.
The event, organised by Nurul Jamiq Mosque and Women’s PBB Kampung Batu Kitang, was held at 5:00 PM and featured Azan (call to prayer) and Surah recitation competitions, followed by the distribution of Bubur Lambuk, a traditional porridge often prepared during Ramadan.

Strengthening Community Ties During Ramadan
The visit by YB Lo and his team highlighted the spirit of unity and togetherness in Batu Kitang. As a representative of the people, YB Lo actively engages with various communities, especially during religious and cultural events.

Speaking at the event, YB Lo expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality of the mosque committee and the villagers.
“Ramadan is a special time for reflection and community bonding. I am grateful for this opportunity to share iftar with everyone and witness the beautiful traditions of the Muslim community here in Kampung Batu Kitang,” said YB Lo.
Bubur Lambuk Distribution, Prize-Giving & Community Aid
A key highlight of the event was the distribution of Bubur Lambuk, a symbolic dish during Ramadan. The porridge, prepared by volunteers, was shared with the community as a gesture of unity and generosity.
YB Lo also took the opportunity to distribute prizes to the winners of the Azan and Surah recitation competitions, recognizing their efforts and dedication in preserving Islamic teachings.
Additionally, he extended his support by providing Ramadan essential supplies to several underprivileged families in Kampung Batu Kitang. This initiative aimed to ease their burden and ensure they could observe the holy month with greater peace of mind.
