KUCHING, SARAWAK – Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, YB Datuk Dr. Hj Hazland bin Abg Hj Hipni, has reaffirmed his strong support for the Right Honourable Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Haji Abul Rahman Zohari’s groundbreaking initiatives: the Tanjung Embang Deep Sea Port and the New Kuching International Airport (KIA). These transformative projects are central to Sarawak’s Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, aiming to elevate the state’s economic and global standing.

Speaking recently, YB Datuk Dr. Hazland praised the Premier’s visionary leadership, emphasizing the importance of public-private partnerships in realizing these ambitious goals. He highlighted the integration of sustainable energy solutions, noting their critical role in ensuring Sarawak’s growth is economically robust and environmentally responsible.

“These initiatives perfectly align with the Sarawak Gas Roadmap and Hydrogen Roadmap, tapping into our natural gas reserves and renewable hydrogen technology to foster innovation and global competitiveness,” said YB Datuk Dr. Hazland.

He further outlined the potential of these projects to attract substantial private-sector investments, diversify Sarawak’s economy, and enhance connectivity to ASEAN and global markets. “The Tanjung Embang Deep Sea Port and expanded KIA will position Sarawak as a major player in international trade and tourism,” he added.

Highlighting the strategic importance of these projects, YB Datuk Dr. Hazland commended the Premier’s dedication to creating a high-income, sustainable Sarawak by 2030. He pledged his Ministry’s full commitment to ensuring the successful integration of renewable energy and environmental sustainability into these infrastructure developments.

“This marks the dawn of a new era for Sarawak,” YB Datuk Dr. Hazland concluded, expressing gratitude for the Premier’s leadership. The initiatives have garnered widespread support from both public and private sectors, recognizing their potential to transform Sarawak’s economic future.
