In a harrowing incident last night, a young female driver narrowly escaped death after her car crashed and burst into flames along Jalan Kota Sentosa in Kuching. The accident, which occurred around 9.30 pm in front of a petrol station at Mile 8, saw swift action from both bystanders and emergency services.

The 19-year-old woman was pulled from the wreckage by quick-thinking members of the public just moments before the vehicle was engulfed in flames. She sustained injuries to her hands and legs and was promptly rushed to the hospital for treatment. Her timely rescue undoubtedly prevented a potential tragedy.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported that firefighters from the Batu Lintang station were dispatched immediately upon receiving the distress call. When they arrived, they found the Perodua Kenari fully ablaze in the middle of the road.
Firefighters utilized water from a nearby fire hydrant to combat the intense flames, successfully extinguishing the fire by 9.53 pm. Overhaul operations were conducted to ensure there was no risk of reignition, securing the area for further investigation.
