MIRI, 19 February 2025 (Wednesday) – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Miri has intensified its enforcement efforts through a Special Ops Technical Raid, targeting traffic offenders in Miri city and along the Miri-Bintulu highway. The operation, spearheaded by the Operations Unit and Motorcycle Enforcement Unit (UPB), aimed to ensure compliance with road regulations.

During the operation, a total of 358 vehicles were inspected. Out of these, 56 vehicles were issued non-compliance notices for various offences, including:
✅ No driving licence
✅ No valid road tax or insurance
✅ Ignoring traffic signals
✅ Expired driving licences
✅ Violating commercial vehicle permit conditions
✅ Other technical infractions

Adding to the crackdown, three motorcycles were seized for committing multiple traffic violations.
JPJ’s Commitment to Road Safety
JPJ Sarawak emphasized that such operations will continue under the Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333), the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board Act (Act 334), and the Land Public Transport Act 2010 (Act 715). These laws govern vehicle and road user regulations to ensure safer roads for everyone.
Authorities urged all motorists, especially commercial vehicle operators, to abide by traffic laws to avoid fines, vehicle seizures, or legal actions. JPJ Sarawak also reminded the public to stay updated on enforcement activities and advisories by following their official social media pages.
