KUCHING, Jan 27 — The top leadership positions in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), including the president, two deputy presidents, and two senior vice presidents, will remain uncontested in the party’s upcoming general assembly from February 14 to 16.

Secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi confirmed that the decision aligns with unanimous resolutions from all 82 party branches, endorsing the current leaders to retain their positions.

However, Nanta clarified that positions from vice president downward remain open for contest. “Nomination forms will be issued in two to three days, and nominations will close no later than a week before the general assembly,” he added.

The upcoming PBB Convention, set to take place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), will see the attendance of over 3,200 delegates. These include representatives from the main body, Women’s wing, Youth wing, and the newly formed Belia wing for members aged 18 to 28.

The convention serves as the culmination of four regional delegate conferences held across Sarawak’s Central Zone (Sibu, Jan 11), Northern Zone (Miri, Jan 18), Southern Zone (Kuching, Jan 19), and Betong Zone (Jan 25).

The PBB Convention will be officiated by Abang Johari, reflecting the party’s unity and focus on advancing its goals.
