Serian, 18 Feb 2025 – Sarawak Premier, YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Abang Johari bin Tun Abg Haji Openg, visited Serian Tourist Market and Lepapa Hypermarket Serian to observe the use of S Pay Global, Sarawak’s e-wallet system, in daily shopping transactions.
Before the visit, he attended the launch of the Sarawak Basic Needs Contribution (SKAS) at the Serian Convention Centre. During his speech, he explained that the SKAS program aims to help low-income (B40) families cope with rising living costs.

“This program is designed to help people buy basic food items like rice, cooking oil, flour, tea, coffee, and vegetables. The government has allocated RM480 million, benefiting over 800,000 recipients,” said Abang Johari.
