Malaysia Welcomes Gen Beta: 2025’s First Newborns Bring Joy Nationwide

As the clock struck midnight on January 1, 2025, Malaysia joined the world in celebrating the arrival of Gen Beta, the generation born from 2025 to 2039. Across the nation, hospitals were filled with joy as parents welcomed their bundles of joy into the new year.

Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital (HTJ) in Seremban recorded 20 births by 1.30 pm, with 14 baby girls and six boys among the newborns. Notably, the hospital celebrated two sets of twins born in the early hours of the morning, marking an auspicious start to the year.

In Pahang, the first baby of 2025, a boy, arrived exactly at midnight at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) in Kuantan. The state saw a total of 19 newborns by 11 am, including 10 boys and nine girls. Additional births were recorded in Temerloh, Bentong, and Lipis, with single births celebrated in Raub, Pekan, and Cameron Highlands.

Putrajaya Hospital reported six births on the first day of the year, equally split between three boys and three girls. The newborns weighed between 2.51 kilograms and 3.85 kilograms, bringing smiles to their families.

Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) in Kangar welcomed six babies by noon, including five boys and one girl. The joyous news spread quickly among families and hospital staff.

Melaka Hospital saw four newborns arrive between midnight and 8 am, comprising one girl and three boys. One of the boys was a foreign national, adding a multicultural note to the celebrations.

State Health, Human Resources, and Unity Committee chairman Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem congratulated all the parents, saying, “Congratulations to all the mothers and fathers celebrating the arrival of their little ones in 2025.”
