Senior Seaman Joanna Felicia Rona, one of the 10 Navy personnel who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter collision in Lumut, Perak, was laid to rest at Kampong Engkaroh Christian Cemetery in Seran at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Survivors and Condolences

Joanna is survived by her 33-year-old husband, Haslie Ali, a Navy petty officer, along with their four-year-old daughter and one-year-old son. Family members, villagers, and military personnel gathered at Haslie Ali’s family home in Kampong Engkaroh to pay their final respects to Joanna.

Royal Malaysian Navy First Admiral Franklin Jeyasekhar Joseff presented the Malaysian flag to Joanna’s husband, expressing the Navy’s heartfelt condolences to the grieving family. The ceremony symbolized the nation’s gratitude for Joanna’s service and sacrifice.

Remembering the Tragedy

Joanna Rona was among the 10 Navy personnel who perished in the tragic incident when two helicopters collided and crashed at the Navy base in Lumut, Perak, on April 23rd. The accident sent shockwaves through the community and left a profound impact on the nation.
