KOTA SAMARAHAN: In a troubling incident earlier today, two motorcyclists were injured following a three-vehicle accident on KM11, Jalan Kota Samarahan-Mambong. The collision, which took place around 6:50 am on June 13, has raised concerns about road safety in the area.

Details of the Collision

According to Kota Samarahan police chief, DSP Jaimi Husin, the accident involved two Yamaha motorcycles and a Perodua Myvi. Preliminary investigations suggest that the crash occurred when a motorcycle, ridden by a 26-year-old man from Serian traveling towards Kuching, collided with another motorcycle ahead of him, ridden by a 21-year-old man.

“Following the initial collision, both riders fell to the right side of the road. Subsequently, one of the motorcycles crashed into a car traveling in the opposite direction,” Jaimi explained.

Injuries and Medical Attention

The 26-year-old rider suffered a fractured right thigh, while the 21-year-old sustained minor injuries to his right hand and shoulder. Both victims were promptly transported to the Sarawak General Hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment.

DSP Jaimi Husin confirmed that the case is currently being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and to ensure that all safety regulations were observed.
